City of Melbourne to post opinion on 1 Queensbridge tower

The City of Melbourne wants its views heard on the development of the recently approved Queensbridge Tower at Southbank.

A motion will be submitted Tuesday to the Melbourne Committee to request that its assessment report on the Melbourne Planning Scheme amendment for the project be posted on the company's website.

The Minister of Planning made a decision to amend the Melbourne Master Plan and to allow the development of Queensbridge Street last week and plans to publish the amendment in the near future.

The decision was taken without publicizing the views of COM planners and the Council intends to publish them before the amendment is published.

The COM wishes to make the City planners available to the public so that the City is not silent on the merits of planning the largest building ever approved within its boundaries.
